500 Children Are Back in School Thanks to You
When 8-year-old Amara walked through the gates of her new school for the first time, she was wearing a crisp new uniform, carrying a backpack full of supplies, and smiling so wide it seemed to light up the entire village.
That moment — one of 500 like it across Kenya this year — is why Rosie O'Donnell Charity Reach exists.
What We Accomplished
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to enroll 500 children in schools across 12 communities in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Here's exactly how your donations were used:
- •School uniforms provided to all 500 children ($47,500)
- •Textbooks, notebooks, and stationery for each child ($23,000)
- •Tuition fees paid for first academic year ($38,000)
- •School building repairs and sanitation upgrades ($15,000)
- •Teacher training workshops ($8,500)
- •Administrative and operational costs ($3,000)
Total: $135,000 raised — $132,000 directly impacting children
That's 97.8% of every dollar going directly to children. We're proud of that number.
What Happens Next
Education is not a one-time gift — it's a commitment. We're already fundraising for the second academic year, and we need your continued support to keep these 500 children in school.
If you haven't already, please consider setting up a monthly recurring donation. Even $10/month keeps one child in school for an entire year.
Thank you for being part of this story.
