Eight Villages Now Have Clean Water — A Community Transformed

Before our water project reached the village of Koforidua in rural Ghana, the women and girls there walked 6 kilometers every day to collect water. The water they brought home was often contaminated. Waterborne diseases were common. Children missed school. Women couldn't pursue other work.

Today, Koforidua has a clean water pump 200 meters from the village center.

The Impact So Far

Our Clean Water Initiative has now installed water purification systems in 8 villages across Ghana, serving a combined population of 12,400 people. The results have been transformative:

• •94% reduction in waterborne disease cases in served villages
• •Girls' school attendance increased by 42% (no longer spending hours collecting water)
• •Women reporting 3+ additional hours per day for income-generating activities
• •$0 ongoing cost to villages — community maintenance committees trained and operational

The Technology

We use a combination of borehole wells, hand pumps, and solar-powered purification units depending on each village's geography and needs. All systems are designed for 20+ year lifespans with minimal maintenance.
